Kendall in San Francisco; Join Me for a Date Night!

Kendall took off this morning on another Cheese-y adventure.   This time she is in San Francisco visiting with cheesemakers, other retailers and on Sunday, my amazing wife will be participating as a judge for the Good Food Awards.    Here's a bit about the awards:
"For a long time, certifications for responsible food production and awards for superior taste have remained distinct-one honors social and environmental responsibility, while the other celebrates flavor. The Good Food Awards recognize that truly good food-the kind that brings people together and builds strong, healthy communities-contains all of these ingredients. We take a comprehensive view, honoring people who make food that is delicious, respectful of the environment, and connected to communities and cultural traditions."

While the winners won't be announced until January, many of our producers have been finalists in the past including some that are in the case right now like Bent River Camembert, Bonne Bouche, Coupole, Mt. Alice, Pleasant Ridge Reserve and Martone. (So proud of our case and our cheese selections! Go us!) To top it off, we've got Smoking Goose and Avalanche Cheese & Meat Co finalists in our charcuterie case. Other producers we represent in other categories include local folks Jester King Brewery and Confituras Preserves, American Spoon preserves, and Mimi's Confitures.
Needless to say, Kendall gave me a rain check for our weekly date night.  Fortunately for me, our events team has planned another great Antonelli's Cheese Date
night on Friday 9/16/16.  What a silver lining.   I will get to share my weekly date night with 24 of our amazing customers.  This is pretty close to the perfect evening, because it includes cheese, meat, olives, bread, dessert bites and ME (your 25th wheel).
